Field and Workshop Services
Southern Cross has over 25 dedicated service staff trained in the maintenance and repair of all pumps, tanks, valves and fittings. From either of our service centres in POM or Lae, our staff can assist with installations, routine maintenance, programmed servicing, major overhauls and unscheduled breakdowns. Our crews are provided with fully equipped service vehicles for all onsite works. We service clients throughout PNG, including all remote sites throughout all provinces. All of our service crews are fully trained in their respective mechanical or electrical fields and have working at heights and confined space accreditation.
Our workshops are furnished with all the necessary tooling and spare parts to quickly turnaround any size repair. We offer full strip down and refurbishment of all pump and valve makes as well as comprehensive manufacturing facilities for all fabrication works. We specialize in servicing centrifugal pumps; bore pumps; wastewater pumps; dewatering pumps; submersible pumps; slurry pumps; water treatment plants; air diaphragm pumps; sewerage pumps and plants; air-conditioning units; fire pump systems and hot water pumps.
Mechanical Seal Refurbishment
We have a dedicated mechanical seal refurbishment cell with filtered air climate controlled clean build room to ensure absolute cleanliness for seal rebuilds. Here we dismantle, clean and inspect the seals, before either resurfacing faces or replacing along with new gaskets and “O”Rings. After building these seals will be pressure tested to ensure integrity. As the John Crane Seal agent for PNG, we have access to the very best in product and engineering support from one of the largest sealing systems manufacturers.
Condition Monitoring
With investment in equipment to assess rotating machinery mechanical condition, we can provide a service to monitor the health of a customer’s plant and equipment. This aids in managing the reliability and repair cycle functions to help minimise life cycle costs and negate unplanned outages.
We have alignment services with our laser alignment equipment to ensure the rotating machine equipment operate smoothly and avoid unscheduled repairs. This ensures longer life for bearings and seals in pump, compressors and motors.
Energy Efficiency Audits
Our trained engineers and service technicians can undertake audits to determine where improvements can be made to help companies reduce their energy usage. The outcomes from these audits can recommend a wide range of measures from applied pump selections to pipe system resizing, changes in valves and their operation, to simple maintenance procedures like cleaning filters and strainers. We provide a full cost benefit analysis with each audit report.
